It was a hell of an adventure but now it’s done a year travelling the world, what more could a girl ask for?
The trip started in Central America, with some Spanish lessons, before travelling much of this part of the world and then up through Mexico to the USA. After a short trip back home for the Commonwealth Games, we went back to the US then onto Europe and Morocco before coming home via China, Korea, India, Nepal and Thailand!! I took this trip with my then boyfriend, Damian.
Somehow, this still wasn’t enough for me so I headed back to Guatemala and onto Cuba by myself for a further six weeks. It was amazing!
November 27: Melbourne – Guatemala City (3.5 months)
Travel around Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador learning spanish and then overland through Mexico to visit my sponsor child and onto Texas and Erica!
March 7: San Antonio, Texas – Vancouver, Canada (5 nights)
March 12: Vancouver, Canada – Melbourne (2 weeks)
Home for Commonwealth Games, weekend trip to tassie to see family.
March 28: Melbourne – Phoenix, Arizona (1.5 weeks)
Visiting Damians relatives, got held up so stayed longer than originally planned.
April 7: Phoenix, Arizona – Los Angeles, USA
2 nights as couldn’t get on a flight out till the Sunday!
April 9: Los Angeles, USA – Edinburgh, Scotland
Some time in Edinburgh and a Haggis tour round the highlands of Scotland.
April 15: Edinburgh, Scotland – Madrid, Spain (1 night)
then onto Salamanca, Spain for 2 weeks spanish school
April 30: Madrid – Istanbul (3 weeks)
Travel up through Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia to Prague
May 23: Prague, Czech Republic – Amsterdam, Netherlands (1.5 weeks)
Hanging out in Amsterdam with Luch and Monica then visiting friends in Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg
June 1: Brussels, Belgium – Barcelona, Spain (1 night)
Basically in transit
June 2: Barcelona, Spain – Casablanca, Morocco (2 weeks)
an 11 day tour of Morocco with Cosmos and then half a week to make our way to Gibraltar

one week on tour hiking in the Sierra Nevada National Park
